The AYUDAME Domestic Violence Program provides services to Latinx victims of domestic violence, in particular newly arrived immigrants with limited English proficiency.

During the pandemic, Dr. Marrs Fuchsel partnered with Progreso Latino's AYUDAME/ Help Me Domestic Violence Program for this important study and interviewed 19 Latina immigrant survivors. Dr. Marrs Fuchsel is a Professor in the Morrison Family College of Health, School of Social Work at the University St. Thomas in St. Paul, Minnesota. She is also Director of the Doctorate in Social Work (DSW) program and she teaches in that program. Dr. Marrs Fuchsel is originally from Lima, Peru and is also a bilingual Spanish-English Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker (LICSW) with extensive direct practice experience working with Latinx families across the country. The study with Progreso Latino is part of her research that focuses on the prevention and intervention of intimate partner violence among immigrant Latinas and their families. She is also author of the book titled, Yes, I Can (Sí, Yo Puedo): An Empowerment Program for Immigrant Latina Women in Group Settings published with Oxford University Press.
